"Pain Management Clinic"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

On Friday I attended the Pain Management Clinic for the first time. When I was eventually seen, I found the Doctor very unhelpful and extremely arrogant. He asked me why my Doctor had referred me to the pain clinic. I told him it was not my GP but the stroke Doctor at Queens, which was just a few doors away. He was not interested in what I told him and all he said was well take a pain tablet to ease the pain. I have been in severe pain in my left leg for a considerable time and finding it very hard to walk and can only just about get around indoors. May I add the patient called in after me I met outside and they were also not impressed with the treatment they also received. I am sure when I tell my GP he will be getting in touch himself. I found this was a complete waste of a day and will not recommend this clinic to anyone else.

Thank you for leaving your feedback on NHS Choices. I am sorry to hear that you found the consultant in Pain Management to be unhelpful when you visited about the pain in your leg. We are actively working to improve our care and this is not how we want our patients to feel about our hospital. To look into this further for you I will need more details from you. Please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely, Stephen Burgess Medical Director
