I recently attended the children's urgent care centre on a busy Sunday lunchtime, as my son had injured his thumb. The triage nurse was obviously working under very stressful conditions: a waiting room full of patients and, seemingly, the sole member of staff assigned to triage. However, she worked quickly and efficiently to make initial assessments, without compromising patient care. She was cheerful, courteous and apologetic for the time patients had spent waiting to be seen. The nurse practitioner also did an excellent job: again an apology for having kept us waiting, a quick decision on the need for x-rays and the foresight to have someone waiting to apply a plaster cast if the x-rays showed the need for one, which they did. The nurses in the UCC, x-ray department and the lovely lady who put my son's plaster cast on all did a wonderful job. Thank you. We were in and out in just over 2 hours - I had fully expected to be there much longer
"Excellent experience"
