"I was about to write a huge letter ..."

About: Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was about to write a huge letter of heartfelt thanks to every one at the hospital, which I will still do, but in the meantime came across this facility to publically declare the outstanding service all staff have provided me with at Queen Victoria.

Less than 2 weeks ago I was admitted for a facial operaton following a random, unprovoked assault. I had worries and concerns in all sorts of ways, not least in terms of undegoing a general anaesthetic which I had never experienced. From the moment of being admitted I was put at ease, had reassuring conversations with the surgeon who perfromed my operation (to whom I extend particular thanks, obviously for the fabulous surgery but also for the very affable, empathetic, patient friendly manner he denonstarted), was given clear explanations at every stage. All the nursing staff made me feel physically and mentally reassured and comfortable, regular obs taken and someone always to hand.

Until it happens to you - it is too easy to take for granted - what you all do is life transforming - I really don't know of a more worthy profession when done to such high standards and with such real care!

You are in the safest of hands at Queen Victoria Hospital!
