"A&E"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

My daughter went to A&E in the early hours of Saturday morning, her face was swollen on both sides right up to her eye, she saw a nurse who said she would have to find an emergency dentist, she wasnt even seen by a doctor. Another six hours later when she'd found an emergency dentist who had a free appointment, the dentist said it wasnt a tooth bit a bite (possibly false widow). He also said that had she been seen by a doctor the doctor would have known that and given her antibiotics saving six more hours of swelling and a great deal of pain. This could have been life threatening, since when dod nurses make the decisions and doctors decide not to see someone without examining a patient. I suggest everyone who has been dissatisfied with their treatment, phone the hospital and make a complaint as I have just done, only then, maybe things will improve.
