I started going to Kingston Hospital for check ups with the Diabetic day Unit after being diagnosed for gestational Diabetes at 10 weeks pregnant. Although the facilities are not the most modern, the midwives make up for that from the moment you meet then. I had to go in twice a month and must have met over 20 midwives and nurses and all have been absolutely lovely, police, professional and very helpful. When at 8 months I started getting complications I was seen by a different team of midwives yet again, helpful, polite, lovely and very sweet team. When I went in for delivery, I went in on Monday to get induced and we left on Friday. We were seen by every Dr, Midwife grade, nurse that worked in the maternity department. Even though the idea of spending 5 days in a hospital initially put me off, I felt so looked after and taken care off, I would recommend Kingston maternity unit even for ladies who would normally opt for a home birth. I only have a few little nags, They need to build more private rooms and the hospital parking needs to be looked into.
"Amazing Maternity staff"
