"respect from staff needs to be improved"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

I had to attend the hospital for a consultation and from the moment I walked in it was clear that non of the staff had the time of day for the patients. The words 'please' and 'thankyou' are not used by the staff. Non of them ever smiled or gave the respect and caring attitude which I would expect from someone working in that environment. These staff need to realise that people are there because they are not feeling well and they should take this into account. Given the choice of where to have future treatment I would definitely not choose Blackburn. This is not the first time or department that I have been dis satisfied with the way that I have been treated there.

Many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our Diagnostic Physiological Measurement service, and thank-you for taking the time to do so. I will make sure your concerns are passed onto the team. I am very sorry to hear that your recent experience with us wasn't what you expected as we always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care; and I will ensure that your comments about staff attitude and lack of care are passed on and fed back to the staff concerned as well. If you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that made this a poor visit for you we would really value this so that we can try to improve it for every patient throughout our hospitals and services. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 734471 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk. If you would like to discuss further any concerns you may have about our services please contact our Customer Relations team on 01254 733700 or complaints@elht.nhs.uk who can advise you of your options in raising these concerns further. Again many thanks for commenting, and apologies that it has taken some time to respond
