"The meals seemed to have improved ..."

About: North Middlesex Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The meals seemed to have improved slightly since 5 years before

What could be improved

The nurses seemed totally confused about how to administer my insulin It was hardly ever ready nbefore my meals sometime not coming to me till an hour after eating which is ludicrous One nurse brought it in a huge hypdermic stlye syringe which i had to tell her was crazy for a small subcutaneous injection She came back with the right type of needle but then Beyond belief at this stage had filled it with 40 units of my insulin instead of 4 I had to argue with her what the difference was on the scale of the syringe before she apologised and disharged 36 excess Hardly giving confidence Surely if I had been elderly or with bad eyesight I would have been sent into a coma!

Anything else?

Overall like my previous visit I seemed to be left for days in a shabby mixed sex holding ward ( are there any clean modern quiet and comfortable wards in North Mid?)which seemed to exist for people to be wheeled in at all hours from a and e No possibility of sleeping at all I was embarrassed to have visitors Completely depressing 3 days It was always difficult to get staffs attention and elderly people in pain during the night I could clearly see were being ignored and dismissed by surly staff I have been in such nice hospitals in other parts ofthis country but this one made me ashamed
