I was booked in for day surgery at short notice by hand trauma unit. Although I arrived early we had a considerable wait, however, I had been forewarned about this and it was because of prioritising surgery on children/ severe cases first so did not mind. The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. The surgeon and anaesthetist explained clearly and in detail the procedure before hand. I have had surgery in other London NHS hospitals and the Royal Free is right up there with the best. Would happily return if necessary, although obviously hope I don't have to!
