"outpatient orthopaedic appointments."

About: Lincoln County Hospital

After attending for a follow up appointment after knee surgery, appointment time was 16.00 hrs, at 17.00 hrs all the admin staff went home leaving one nurse to run the clinic, there were still 5 people waiting to be seen by the Orthopaedic staff, At 18.00 hrs I was finally seen, the consultation lasted all of 1 minute, what we talked about could easily have been discussed via the phone, I had travelled over an hour to get to the hospital, I had to pay gross car parking charges, and throughout the waiting period not once were we informed by staff as to the delay in clinic timings or a reason for the delay, one guy had been in the hospital since 08.00 waiting to see orthopaedics when I left he was still there waiting. It was chaos nobody seemed to know what was going on, I was one of several people who complained to staff. I waited over a year for the initial surgery after they misplaced my records and I got lost in the admin pile, the surgery carried out in day surgery was very good and the staff in the day surgery were very good, but the clinic system is dismal.
