"scarlet fever - a virus???"

About: Barnet Hospital

I went to A&E dept with my 9 yrs old daughter. I suspected Scarlet Fever as my other daughter had that a week earlier. We had to wait with other kids around us - rush and bacteria in Scarlet Fever case are contagious so poor littlepatients may get it soon... Whats more I was told by the doctor that it is 'probably' scarlet fever but it is a virus!!! how come, scarlet fever is a bacterial infection, doctors please study harder! she got peniciline next day from the gp (for 10 days) but no help at all from the hospital.... sorry, they gave her ibuprofen...
