"Care of elderly mother on Ward 24."

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

My mother, age 91, was admitted as an emergency admission to Ward 24 in January, this year. Throughout her stay, until her death at the beginning of February, she received exemplary care and was treated with utmost respect, dignity and compassion. The ward staff were equally helpful and understanding to us as relatives, particularly considering our daily round trip journey to the hospital of 140 miles.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are extremely grateful that you have taken the time to provide this feedback. Our staff work hard to try to ensure that a patient’s experience whilst at the hospital is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and they are always considerably heartened and motivated on learning how much their efforts have been appreciated. We have passed your kind sentiments to staff on Ward 24. If we can be of further assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 432 0251, email wih-tr.pals@nhs.net or in writing to PALS, Arrowe Park Hospital, Arrowe Park Road, Upton, Wirral, CH49 5PE.
