"Gyne op"

About: Benenden Hospital

They caused my wife permanent nerve damage which they would not admit to. It could have been rectified if they had listened to her and taken her back down to surgery. She was discharged even though she was in pain and was unable to sit down to make the journey home after gyne surgery. She had to lean on the back seat of the car. I took her back 4 times over the next few months, each time she was told they couldn't see what was wrong. When I complained, all that the hospital were concerned about was their doctors and also told they are a non profit making organisation. I didn't want to sue, I just wanted help for the agony my poor wife was in and still is. Eventually she was told by a doctor at a different hospital that she had suffered nerve damage during the operation and although rare, it is well documented and they were shocked that the doctors didn't know what was wrong and appalled at what she had been through and is now left with. Benenden is fine if your treatment goes well but beware, if you have a problem they won't want to know. I doubt this will be published!
