"Breathing difficulty in 6 yr old"

About: Lister Hospital

Very good. Seen really quickly for initial assessment and then the doctor was there in minutes. She then refered to the consultant for advice (I like when doctors are happy to check/consult - no god complex!). So basically happy. Only qualm was we there told he needed emergency surgury - but that would be 5-7 days away. We were left assuming "emergency" means something else in this context - but we're a little worried now.

Thanks for your feedback and we're glad to see how well looked after you felt you and your son were by the Lister's children's emergency team. From what you've described, it sounds like your son now needs an urgent procedure (perhaps emergency is not the best phrase to use) that needs to take place within the next week or so (i.e. important that it happens quickly, but not a life-threatening issue that would require emergency surgery there and then). If you would like us to follow this up for you and find out what's happening, just email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net and we'll take it from there.
