My review is of my husband's care after a major operation for bladder cancer and his introduction to having a stoma and the urostomy bags. An excellent outcome after the team operated 2 weeks ago. My husband is now home, recuperating and becoming used to life with a bag. Today we visited the stoma nurse at Pilgrim Hospital who reassured and helped understand the best use of these and how to obtain supplies. How fortunate we are to have such an NHS and the wonderful staff who have saved my husband's life; without this treatment his prognosis would have been dire and life short! Thanks in particular to the staff on the ITU at Lincoln general hospital, and who are such a comfort to relatives.
