"outpatients appointments."

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

My grandson was sent a letter with an appointment for December to which we attended. The following week we received a letter informing us of another appointment for January. As he has recently been diagnosed with autism we assumed this was correct. However on attending his January appointment we were informed by the receptionist that this had infact been cancelled and brought forward to the December one. No one informed us that the January appointment was cancelled. Fortunately for us we live nearby so didn't have far to travel but it is distressing to a 4 year old child who has to be taken out of school for a non existent appointment. Very poor communication.
