"Threatened and uncared for"

This is the worst ward i have ever experienced. I witnessed abuse of both a physical and mental nature, when reported no one listened to me. Staff frequently threatened patients with section or to take away any leave. You are made to feel stupid and awkward. It is a feeding clinic. All the team care about is weight gain. Although i appreciate that weight gain is an important part of the treatment of anorexia, it should be carried out in a more controlled way and in a more supportive environment., rather than forcing patients to gain as much weight as they can as quickly as possible using unrealist mealplans and with no trust. The building itself is horrible, run down and unclean. I saw mice as well as other pests such as insects on a regular basis. When this was reported, all that the staff said was it was due to the building being so old. The problems were not resolved. Rooms are small and cold. Doors are locked as are windows. I find it hard to think of any positive point about the Phoenix Wing or St Anns. I thought Wards like that were no longer around in the 21st Century. I was wrong.
