"day care unit"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (London)

great care from nurses and diligent about procedures. The ward was small and noisy and overlit and lacks sizeable windows. Food was good. Training hospital so lots of staff to see so obviously communication bewteen them is important and generally seemed ok. I wanted definite info on what i could do at home following discharge (after one day, following hernia repair - eg can i walk outside? how long for?), and i was hoping for more info on my surgery - the asst surgeon spoke to me but not the main surgeon - surprising as the procedure carried out was not the one anticipated. I understand how it was better to discharge me early but unclear about how co-ordinated that process was (still awaiting hernia belt thing after being home 6 days and why would i need it if surgery was successful?). But generally ok, staff who were sure of their roles were great.
