"Neurology department"

About: Leicester General Hospital

We visited this department today 15/01/14 for an appointment at 2.50pm. we were in good time, infact 15 mins early. After waiting what seemed like a lifetime we were seen at 4.20pm. Yes i understand that patient transport appointment may be seen first as i have previously worked in hospitals. However to my knowledge at least 2 more patients were seen before us who didn't require patient transport. The receptionist kept placing patient notes on top of ours ready for the consultant to see leaving us waiting! This was very distressing for my Husband who was going to see a consultant as he was nervous & does not like Hospitals at the best of times. The consultant didn't seem very professional and and it seemed as if she were assuming that the appiontment was a waist of time & it felt like she wanted us out of there. She almost made this clear with her laughing & grinning over something that could well be a serious condition my Husband has. Meanwhile in consulting room 4 the consultant had a Jr. in there & when she collected the patient notes she left the door wide open for all to hear her reading the so called confidential notes on her next patient to the Jr. This happened three times while we were waiting to be seen. So unprofessional. Not looking forward to our next visit at all.

Dear reviewer, Thank you for your feedback, this is valuable to the Trust as it allows us to continually review and improve our services. I have noticed that you have listed your comment under NEPHROLOGY but have titled your comment NEUROLOGY department. In order for me to ensure this is passed onto the correct service for review and feedback, could you please contact me on communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk with clarification of the department. It would be useful if you could also share your husband's details (name, DOB and address) so we can request your comments are investigated thoroughly for you.
