"A & E really do care"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

My 88 year old mother had to visit A & E due to a possible stroke as referred by her doctor. We were seen and assessed within 30 minutes. During the next 6 hours she was given an ECG, full blood tests and a CT scan whilst being kept up to date, fed and watered by some of the most courteous and friendly staff. We expected to wait 2 hours for the result of the scan but was given a positive result in about 1.5 hours. The department was obviously busy and the staff remained calm and friendly whatever was thrown at them. I must say that the people who attended with non emergency matters seemed to annoy me a lot more than the staff that had to deal with them. Well done Queens and thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to share your mother’s experience. It’s great to hear that she was assessed quickly and received her tests and results in a timely fashion, in some cases exceeding your expectations. Our staff are very busy and they’ll appreciate that you thought they remained calm and friendly. Yours sincerely Flo Panel-Coates Director of Nursing
