I am writing this review following the care given to my elderly uncle in the Coronary Care Unit. All the staff we encountered in the 2 weeks my uncle was in hospital, before he sadly died at age 92, acted with the utmost professionalism and dedication. They treated him with the utmost respect and dignity and got to know him as an individual and not just another elderly patient. They were genuinely interested in what he had done with his life and showed this when speaking with him and to the family who visited. The care and compassion shown to us as a family on the day he died will live in our memories for a very long time indeed. There was one Staff Nurse in particular who went beyond what was required in finding us when we went for a coffee. We have written formally thanking the hospital for their care but wanted to publicly acknowledge this also through this review.
