What I liked

I recently had a hysterectomy at Airedale Hospital. It was a very positive experience - all staff without exception were courteous, respectful, professional and genuinely cared about me as an individual. They all took hygiene very seriously and were constantly washing their hands. They also made sure I was aware of their professional competencies and training - something I found very reassuring.

What could be improved

The only area for improvement is take home drugs - I had to wait for hours for them. I'm sure for routine procedures like mine they could have been ordered the day before, so that patients can go home in the morning and beds prepared for afternoon admissions.

Anything else?

IThis was my first experience of surgery - it was very positive and successful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Airedale to family and friends and . should I ever require surgery again in the future, I would definitely choose Airedale again. Thank you to everyone involved in my care - it was excellent.
