"Let down by the MRI neurology dept"

About: Leicester General Hospital / Neurology

(as the patient),

As another patient explained I too had an MRI scan on my brain and had to wait an unacceptable amount of time for the results (around 2 months) to be shoved between neurology and eye clinic, as it seemed no one knew what they were doing. When I did finally get the results, after I made several phone calls, I was told I had a small low grade tumour.

I feel the way neurology handled this case was totally wrong. I think surely guidelines should be in place for how long you should be left waiting and how you are informed. Also I have not been informed about how often I need re scans, which I feel is wrong, no matter the size of the tumour now it should be monitored. I really feel the neurology dept at times lets the hospital down.
