"My wife was diagnosed with breast ..."

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and to this day we are still waitng for her surgeon to show any kind of compassion or even humanity. He can't even admit to our GP he made an error.

Chemo unit very good but depending on which staff working-2 hour wait for treatment ,told laughingly "welcome to our unit" seemed proud of delay and patients falling asleep in the waiting room! Let down by little things, and the"Few" I don't blame the staff on the frontline, most of these issues are due to continuing poor management, maybe they should try process mapping an appointment and realise the time wasted and its effect on all involved, both phsycologically and financially.

What could be improved

Patient communication and more understanding that at such an emotive time, to make patients wait without any explanation up to two hours for their booked treatment is both unkind and unproffessional, especially in a time of increased focus on patient care and wellbeing.
