"Agony during birth at Liverpool Women's Hospital, after induction"

I was induced at LWH 2 days after my waters had broken. Nearly a year later, I still occasionally have flash back dreams and have struggled with my experience for months. After insertion of the first pessary, I was in agony, unable to move from a foetal position, barely able to see or speak to my husband. Despite being in obvious pain, I was not checked on until the next pessary was due to be inserted.

Over the course of the day, I was made to feel like a disruptive nuisance due to the noise I was making - which I would describe as moaning. I was admonished for not eating my lunch or drinking, even though I couldn't move. When I was checked over, I was 9 cm dilated and people rushed to examine me and rush me to delivery.

I can not explain the pain I had been in that day, suffice to say I still have nightmares and almost had a panic attack when I recently returned to the hospital on an unrelated matter. A level of pain where someone is convinced they are dying is not ok in a modern hospital. Procedures need to be amended.

I love my son so much and wanted a large family but the thought of going through that again is too much to bear.
