"Swelling of ring finger following trauma."

About: Wycombe Hospital

I took my wife to the Unit, with a swollen, bruised finger, following an injury sustained less than 24 hours previously. Attempts at home to remove the ring from the finger failed. The ring had to be cut and separated with forceps, to extract it from the injured finger. An X-Ray was taken of the finger, which showed no bony injuries. I saw the NHS at its best yesterday; the staff were polite, caring and skilled at their job.
