What a mixed bag - wonderful urology team, especially the Urology Nurses, a generally cheerful and helpful general nursing team, let down by a ghastly nursing night shift on 1st April. They left me distressed in bed around 11pm never asked where, how and why I was in pain - just squirted morphine down my throat and didn't speak to me again. I ended up trailing myself back and forward to the toilet on my own 36 hours after a radical prostatectomy until a lovely nurse from another bay rescued me at about 3 in the morning, sorted out my catheter and actually cared for me. Two or three bad apples rotting the barrel for the rest who tried so hard and did so well. Another minor point, why hold ward rounds during breakfast? I didn't eat it properly in three days because of this! So near, yet so far!!
