"Rude staff"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Last night my dad was admitted to ward 33 this morning I went in to leave him fresh cloths bad find out if he needed anything and also ensure his limited mobility issues were known to staff. Nurses were very rude and dismissive and in less than 12 hours they have lost my dads shave point socket. I put it in his bag so I know it was there when he left home. The floor was mopped as I was with my dad it was left so wet it will take hours to dry. Please do not get admitted to LRI

Dear Reviewer We are really sorry to learn of this. Our staff should be polite, honest and friendly, so it is very disappointing that this doesn’t reflect your experience. It is difficult to explain what may have happened to your father’s shave point socket in this reply, but we fully understand that this would be annoying. Especially given that this may already be an anxious time for you and your father. It is important we keep our hospital clean, but perhaps the floor shouldn’t have been cleaned while you were with your father. We are sorry about this too. Should you like to follow-up any of your concerns, please get in touch and we’d be very happy to investigate further. Our email address is communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. We sincerely hope the quality of care your father receives on ward 33 at the Royal Infirmary will help to change your opinion of our hospital. Kind regards, Communications Team Leicester’s Hospitals
