"Gone missing"

My 91 year old mother in law was admitted to A&E on Saturday 29 March 2014 where she received the very best of care and attention from all concerned. She was kept in overnight on the Observation Ward awaiting admission to the Duffy Suite, probably the next day. On the morning of Sunday 30 March we took in a bag containing a complete change of outer clothes, 2 complete changes of underclothes, a night dress and dressing gown, a wash bag containing all necessary items including a towel and most importantly, her dentures. A large, bulky carrier type bag. These were placed on her bed and remained in the bag pending her probable move to the Duffy Suite during that day. They were on her bed when we left. What happened to them after we left? She remained on the Observation ward until Monday evening, at which time she was transferred to the Duffy Suite. They did not arrive with her in the Duffy Suite. At no time did she sleep in her own night clothes, At no time did she wear her dentures. How can an elderly, slightly confused lady, who is 4 weeks from being 92, be left without her dentures, without her own night clothes, without her own wash bag, without a change of clothes without anyone noticing or commenting? How is she supposed to be rehabilitating and gaining strength when she cannot eat properly without her dentures? Where is her dignity., How can this happen when the Frailty Team had been called in? Where is Safeguarding? How can this happen in a new hospital, in the 21st century with all of the Safeguard "in place"? How?
