"First class experience"

About: Castle Hill Hospital

I saw the surgeon on 17/12/13 & I went into Castle Hill for a complete hip replacement on 05/03/14. I had had a pre-op assessment 2 weeks before, which fully answered all my list of questions plus some I hadn't thought of so I was feeling pretty relaxed that morning going into surgery & chatting with the surgical team. The spinal anasthetic was completely pain free & they were all so efficient that I was on the ward eating lunch almost before I knew it. The nursing team on Ward 9 were obviously very busy but I can't fault anyone concerned with my treatment. Everyone was professional but caring & humourous & there was a good atmosphere. The physiotherapy & occupational health teams soon have you exercised & assessed & I was able to be discharged after lunch on 07/03/14, walking on my two sticks & with a bag full of medication & aftercare instructions. I was very impressed with the whole experience & would highly recommend it. I should also mention the food, good choice & quality which always helps & the good standard of housekeeping.
