What I liked

New part of the hospital, the old part you walk through looked a bit tired, but still very functional. Staff, doctors and surgeon all knew what was happening and I felt that everybody was doing what they could do.

What could be improved

I would have expected a higher degree of scrutiny on cleanliness when going in to the intensive care unit. As patients are more at risk when they are in this area, I would have expected to wear face mask, clean hands, no contact, etc, for fear of passing infection when the mildest infection could affect the patients.

Anything else?

Make staff more aware of when patients are to be moved. I was due to come on a saturday and on Wednesday made specific visiting arrangements. He was moved on the Thursday, and I then had to track him down and do it all again!
