"Hospital staff fantastic car parking terrible."

About: Hertford County Hospital

The cost to park in its self is beyond belief but as a blue badge holder as I'm in a wheel chair due to being an amputee being accosted by the parking attendant because I had not displayed a valid pay and display ticket although I had clearly displayed my blue badge because I had parked in a non disabled bay due to all the bays being in use made me feel as I was being threatened. If I need to pay pleases erect a sign with letters big enough so you can clearly see as you drive in, it is difficult enough for the likes of myself to get to the hospital itself without having to wheel myself up and down steps and hills in order to go and read the terms and conditions of parking.

Response from Hertford County Hospital

We're sorry the signage wasn't clear - we'll take this up with Vinci who own and run the car park at the Lister. It has been the Trust's policy for over five years now that at Hertford County, parking in designated blue badges is free (as long as the right permit is displayed), but the use of all other public bays carries the parking charge. We do hope that despite this experience, you get the support you came for from our doctors and nurses.
