"Fracture clinic"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

I had to revisit the fracture clinic at the hospital today as the pot on my broken ankle had collapsed at the heel. I was treated like a naughty schoolboy by the officious receptionist because I turned up unannounced 1 hour before the start of the normal day, hoping to get a simple repair. Clearly I should have rung first, but I was well and truly put in my place with a verbatim recital of the rules of the clinic, compassion and a little bit of consideration, not on this ladies wavelength. Thank goodness for the staff in the fracture clinic , they know who they are. Nothing was too much trouble, they also new the rules and yet I was made to feel like a human being not a pawn on a chessboard. You have a great practical team who really know how to deal with the public who pass through their hands. Nice one!!!
