Really good IT service, really helped, meeting new patients, doing things together off the ward. Cooking, music, Wii, art activitives. Being with the OT was a more relaxing atmosphere, no pressure like with nursing staff, this helped my recovery and other people's.
Foudn out now that they've lost their rooms and half of the staff have been moved on. They have Peer Support Workers, but they've not trained to the level an OT has. I don't think the Peer Support Worker should have that kind of responsibility - too much pressure on them. Peer Support Workers should be there for the patient, not having the pressure of trying to fill an OT's job.
