"My experiences on Rowan 2 and Redwood 2"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been a service user at Millbrook and at Highbury.

At Millbrook, I thought the staff treated me really badly. They were rude to me, quite dismissive.

At Highbury, so far the staff have all been really nice. All the staff are really nice.

The doctor didn't seem to know my diagnosis, which was frustrating. The week before, the doctor did know my diagnosis so I can't work that out.

There is quite a lot of difference between the doctors.

I'd like more choice of food, there are not enough vegetarian options.

There has been no OT on the ward for two weeks.

I like having a cigarette wit staff, it makes them more human. I didn't know about the possible smoking ban.

I’m pleased to hear the staff at Highbury have been really nice to you but of course sad that you find staff at Millbrook rude and dismissive. Patient experience is very important to us so please don’t hesitate to contact me on the number below if you would like to talk about your experiences at Millbrook so I can address the issues you raise. I will pass on your comments regarding the doctors and OT presence on the wad to Highbury managers so they can look into the issues you raised

Hi Amy Jayne,

I am pleased you are able to post these opinions on behalf of a service user. I would of course echo all what Jo Horsley has said in her response to you but also to say that in my role as Highbury Live! Champion I would be happy to help in any way regarding letting you know about activities happening hospital wide including the Patients Council, our monthly open forums and events you may wish to be involved in.
