"My feedback about Cherry Ward"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Mental Health Services for Older People – Inpatient

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

It's smashing! I have no problems at all.

The food can be a bit boring, but I feel looked after and that's the main thing. I think the ward could be brightened up a bit, and the people who are at more risk could maybe have more one-to-one time with staff but overall I think Cherry Ward is great.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback on our ward. its always good to have the opinion of patients and their families to help us improve our service.

I'm pleased to note that you feel 'looked after' on Cherry Ward. Perhaps you could get back to me with any ideas on improving our decor or you can share your thoughts in a patients meeting? The decor/ward art work has been a discussion point in patietns meetings recently. Thank you also for letting us know that you feel some patients need more care and time than others, I'll bring this up with the team at supervision sessions and we'll discuss how we can effect change.

The nursing staff work hard to try and give each patient one to one time and are aware through supervision and feedback such as this how important it is, so I'm pleased you have brought this up. It helps us to focus on what is important to the patient. Our new consultant also is aware that you want to see her and the doctors. We now have more consultant time allocated to us, so this means people see her more frequently.

Over the last serveral months Marie and Chris have worked closely with catering services and the current patients at our last community meeting 12/05/15 felt the food had improved and was generally good, with several options to choose from.
