"Good care but follow ups very poor"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

When an inpatient care very good. Follow up poor. Waited nine weeks for out patient appointment. When I checked I was never referred as I should have been. The same thing happened in March. Should have had a referral and this was never done. Ward clerk sorted for me after I rang. Have been in A&E also but sent home. No-one seems to be able to sort out my problem.

Thank you for providing feedback on the care you have received following a visit to our Emergency Department in March 2014. While you have stated that the inpatient care was very good, it is disappointing to hear that the subsequent follow-ups were poor. The Trust is running a scheme were appointments are made closer to their actual date. This has shown to minimise the numbers of appointments were patients fail to turn up. This may have been why you waited a while for your appointment however without more information on your individual case it is difficult to be 100% positive. Would you be willing to take up the opportunity to discuss your concerns with our staff? If you feel this would be useful please contact the Trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 028 4203.
