"Urgent referral with chest pain"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

We arruved in A & E with a referral letter from our GP after my husband complained of central chest pain of a few days duration. My husband was called through within minutes of booking in and was given an ECG by a very pleasant male nurse who took bloods shortly afterwards. He was then moved to the Trolley Wait area and was examined and assessed by a Consultant very quickly who ordered treatment with aspirin, Clopidogrel and GTN spray and arranged admission with repeat blood tests arranged for later that evening. A chest x-ray was perfomred and he was then moved to the CDU and later to Ward 2. Blood tests were repeated later that evening - (on time) and when these were reported as normal, i.e no sign of heart muscle damage, he was allowed to go home having been offered the option of staying overnight. The service given could not have been better or more professional - a very positive result. Thank you.

Thank you very much for giving us your feedback, I'm glad to hear your husband was well cared for and you had a positive experience at what must have been a worrying time. Kind regards, Sarah Mainprize
