I have recently spent 5 days on Spencer Ward in Northampton General and I can't praise them enough. The nurses were friendly, explained things when you didn't understand them, had a smile for you all the time. They were understanding and supportive and the best I have ever come across both in the private and public sector.
My previous experiences of hospitals made ne nervous and they have completely changed my mind about nurses having compassion. These nurses work hard with very little time to themsleves and often short staffed yet they still gave you all the time you needed.
I also found the doctors very friendly and seemed to make time for you. This again is very different from previous experience (with the exception of paying to see a doctor, then they have all the time in the world).
I would give the ward a 10/10
