"treatment of a trans person as psychiatric inpatient"

I was admitted to gresham 1 ward at the bethlem royal hospital following an overdose. I had previously been admitted to two camhs units, which were mixed wards, and I was able to be treated as a man without problems because, yeah, I have a vagina, but that did not dictate the way people interacted with me or referred to me in conversation.

on admission to snowsfields last year it was established on day one that I am a trans-man and that I should be referred to by chosen name only and with male pronouns and this was continue throughout my treatment.

returning to my current admission, this has not been the case. despite making it very clear that to the pln making the referral in a+e that I 100% did not want to be admitted to an all female ward and that I would like it made known that I am trans when I was admitted, neither of these things happened.

I find myself constantly having to tell every single member of staff that I am a man and should not be referred to as 'she', 'young lady' etc. as these make me very uncomfortable and trigger gender dysphoria, on top of my myriad of problems. After a meeting with the consultant today, where I very firmly insisted that it is inappropriate for me to be referred to as female by staff who by now know of my identity, they continued to say 'she' and use my birth name in and after this meeting. I am personally disgusted that anyone thinks this treatment is ok, or that there is justification for it.
