Our son attended the RBH today for a cystoscopy procedure. He was looked after very well during the day and was given plenty of time to recover from his general anaesthetic. The day surgery ward was efficiently run and the only small criticism I'd make is that his initial reception was a little rushed but with a number of patients arriving at the same time - 7.30am - the nursing staff were rather overloaded. Thanks again!

Thank you for the lovely comments you have posted regarding the care that your son received while being cared for in the Adult Day Surgery Unit. We are very proud of the team that work in this unit and they will be delighted to know that the care they provided was appreciated. It is a very busy unit and the beginning of the day is perhaps the busiest time with all of our morning admissions coming in at the same time. This is because the surgeons and the anaesthetists need to see their own patients before they start their theatre lists. It is difficult to know how to make this less chaotic but we will have a discussion with the team to see if there are any solutions to this.
