What I liked
Everything.
What could be improved
Nothing.
Anything else?
People are very quick to criticise the standard of service they receive from the emergency services, without ever considering what hard work is put in by the people on the "shop floor" - I should know, I've been a response police officer for 7 years.
I have just spent two nights in the Clinical Decisions Unit at Wythenshawe with a painful infection in my finger. The nurses, despite having to work through tea breaks, lunch breaks and way beyond the end of their normal shift owing to the ridiculously busy A & E department and wards, could not have done more for me. They managed to retain their good nature and good humour in what must be an exhausting environment. It is a well worn cliche that nurses and members of the medical profession in general deserve better, to the extent where one almost feels insincere in stating the obvious, but the staff who looked after me in the Clinical Decisions Unit between 29th November to 1st December all deserve the highest praise for their good nature and human touch.
I will endeavour to take a leaf from their book when I huff and puff about my own heavy workload. Thank you once again.
"Everything."
