"The lady operator who answered was brilliant"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

My husband slipped out of a chair and was unable to get back up. I called 999 for help; the lady operator who answered was brilliant. She went through everything with me, explained what would happen and that it may take an hour before the paramedics would arrive.

In fact they came within half an hour. The two paramedics asked me what had happened and checked my husband was not hurt. They asked for a towel and used this to pull him back up.

Dear Nature444

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope you and your husband are both well.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to be able to pass your kind comments onto the member of staff who took your call, and the ambulance crew who assisted your husband. In order to do this I will need to know the date of the call, and the address that the ambulance attended.

Could you please contact me, at your convenience, on 01392 453831 ot email laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk?

Thank you again

Laura
