Today i went to North Tyneside General Hospital for a colposcopy after having a smear which came back with high grade dyskaryosis. I was very nervous having read some awful reviews but i had nothing to worry about. The staff were fantastic, very sympathetic, humour in the appropriate places to lighten the mood and really made me feel at ease. I had a loop biopsy, i didnt feel a thing with the injection, slight burning sensation while the biopsy was done but nothing i couldnt cope with and then nothing after that. I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the results. Having been home for a few hours the anaesthetic has worn off and i have cramp like pains but nothing i havent had before during a period. I would definatley recommend North Tyneside for this procedure and would definatley go back should i need any further treatment.

Dear Shelley, I can appreciate how worried you've been and also how important it is when patients are anxious that they are met with warm, friendly staff who act quickly and instil a sense of confidence and trust.
