On Monday Morning my GP booked me in for assessment, suspecting an issue with my appendix. I was admitted on Monday afternoon to the Surgical Assessment Unit. The care that I was given there was most kind and considerate. I was later that day admitted to Ward 13. I would like to thank all the staff here for their care and compassion during my stay. I would also like to thank the staff in the various diagnostic departments, X-Ray and Ultrasound, who were most considerate and kind as well as the porters who moved me around to the various departments. Tuesday night I was operated on to have my appendix removed after a clear and helpful explanation of the procedure and its risks by the surgeon. Wednesday morning I was back on my feet, and was discharged later that day, already feeling better. Many thanks to the surgical team who conducted my operation. The person in the recovery room was most supportive as I came round from the operation. A new experience for me as this was my first operation as I approach my half century! When you are ill and it is an emergency situation you expect the NHS to "work" and in my case the NHS did work, and I am well on the road to recovery. Thanks to all involved in my care.
