"Parking system needs to be improved"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

(as a relative),

I have never witnessed such a ridiculous parking system. You park your car, put in your number plate on a tiny, badly lit keypad and pay. In wind, rain and sleet you freeze whilst doing the process. People stand looking confused. If you go over your time the process needs repeating. This needs to change to improve patient care.

Dear Penny,

Thanks for this - we're very grateful to all patients who have taken the time to give us important feedback about the new system.

The Trust has listened to, and is concerned by, the many issues raised by patients and families, since the Parking Eye system was installed. As a result, we are entering into urgent discussions with Parking Eye Ltd to find a way of addressing these concerns and preventing any recurrence of the issues which have been reported to us.

With best wishes,

Annie

Dear Penny,

Just to update you that the outcome of this. The Trust has made an important change and reached an agreement which will result in the termination of the management contract with Parking Eye on all Northumbria premises.

I hope this provides you with some assurance of our determination to listen and respond to the needs of our patients and the local people we serve.

With all best wishes,

Annie
