"Early pregnancy clinic and A+E review"

About: Dorset County Hospital

After suffering a complicated miscarriage in 2012 and being treated badly at another local hospital , when we fell pregnant again we asked if our care could be at Dorchester. Because of our history we were seen by the EPU at 4 weeks and again 2 weeks later, both times we treated with respect and great care, the staff were all friendly and made a very tense time very assuring for us. We had got past the 12 week mark and thought everything was fine. 4 weeks ago when I was 15 weeks I experienced a bleed as you can imagine it was a terrifying time for us , I went to A+E after I phoned through to the maternity unit, I was seen promptly by triage and within minutes was in a room having a Canular fitted! Thankfully everything was ok and was in and out of a+e within 2 hours. I was then seen 2 days later at the epu where everything was confirmed ok. The care we have received so far has been second to none and we look forward to delivering our first baby in your care

Thank you for such lovely feedback I will make sure this is shared with the Maternity Service and Emergency Department staff. I am delighted to read how our staff cared for you and gave you confidence especially after experiencing a complicated miscarriage with your first pregnancy; you must have both been very worried. I am very grateful to you for taking the time to write your review and I hope your pregnancy is progressing well in what must now be your third trimester. Kind regards, Alison Tong, Director of Nursing, Dorset County Hospital.
