Experiencing a severe abdominal pain my wife drove me to A&E, Forth Valley Royal Hospital around 10. 15pm on a Friday evening. After various emergency tests I was operated on for what turned out to be a gangrenous gall bladder which was completely removed. It was a very close thing and I was told I was lucky was in the vicinity of the hospital. Dr Shearer and his team did an amazing job for which I will be for ever grateful.
I was then in ICU for 2-3 days where the staff, particularly Sharon, looked after me impeccably and then onto ward B11 where I had my own room for the two weeks that followed.
It is difficult to put into words the unbelievable high standard of care that I received. The wonderful staff nurses, Donna, Jill, Cathy, Mandy, Linda, Margaret (apologies if I missed anyone) and their teams, the domestics, the quantity and quality of food, were all beyond reproach.
It was the overall high level of motivation, wellness, high spirits that was abundant throughout the ward that was overwhelming factor. I made a good recovery and was released after 16 days that I will never forget for so many reasons.
Well done Forth Valley and your amazing staff.
