When I suffered a nervous breakdown in June '07, the NHS rallied around me to support, nurture and make me well. My GP brought in the mental health team the same day as I saw her. My community nurse visited me weekly. He coaxed and coached me back to health. When my work sacked me for my disability (bipolar disorder) he came around immediately and encouraged me to take legal action. When my health declined again, my nurse and psychiatrist got me additional support from a psychologist.
My support team have been wonderful - without them I may not have still been here. Thank you to my GP, and all the mental health team.
