Recently I visited the out patients department for a podiatry appt. I have never been to Newark hospital before. I enquired at the voluntary desk where to go and was very impressed by the ladies response. On turning into the outpatients dept I was met by a man. What a kind man, he checked my details and then referred to me by name and had a very pleasant manner. But what impressed me the most was that my appt was 10:00 and he came up to me about 10:15 and said that he was aware I had been waiting and went to enquire how much longer I would be waiting for. I was quite happy waiting but what a lovely gesture. When I had finished I had to approach the reception desk to hand them paperwork and as I was leaving I thanked him and he said goodbye to me by using my name. I hope he gets to read this or the hospital share this with him. Lovely touch to the service. Most impressed.
