"Follow up for cancer diagnosis"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / General Medicine ( wards G North, G South, J North, J South & L South)

(as a relative),

My mum (88yrs) was admitted to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for a stroke a couple of months ago. Her care was very good and she now is at home recovering and doing well.

During her admission, they found some shadows on her chest which after two biopsy procedures turned out to be the return of her breast cancer. Her diagnosis was given by a respiratory doctor, who could at the time, give her little of no information, but advised that she would receive a follow up appointment with an oncology specialist within two weeks.

Over two weeks have passed and no appointment has materialised. Mum is very worried and we feel let down by the lack of timely follow-up. I am planning to take matters into my own hands this week and chase this up on her behalf.
